/her/ – Island, Fog, God of Dreams follows four generations of women from Beigan, Matsu, exploring how decades of militarization continue to shape everyday life on a frontline island between Taiwan and China. Through memories of the U.S. military presence, psychological warfare broadcasts, dream-divination rituals, and family life, the work examines how historical experiences are transmitted across generations.

Presented as a three-channel video installation, interviews, ship horns, radio broadcasts, and environmental sounds move across the exhibition space, forming a layered narrative of war, belief, and daily life. Through the stories of women on the island, the work reflects on how history remains embedded in the ordinary long after events have passed.

Installation view, 2025 Matsu Biennial, Tangqi Story House, Beigan, Matsu, Taiwan.
